Mr. Marra was one of my favorite teachers. I always enjoyed his class. My heart goes out to his family. Rest in Peace Mr. Marrra.

I was one of his students at VHS, and will always be grateful to have had the privilege of learning from him. Love and comfort to his family.

I don't remember that many of my teachers that this age, but I always remembered Mr Marra and thought (and spoke) of him often.

Dear Jan:

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Mr. Alphonse J. Marra. He lived an incredible life and left behind a legacy. We mourn with our family members, Tracy & Dante Marra and their children and send our deepest condolences to your family.

Dear Jan, I am sorry we never met Al. What a most remarkable and wonderful man. Please accept Jim's and my condolences at this very sad time. We know what a devoted wife you were and how much you loved him. Our sympathies to Thad and Mindi and everyone in the Marra family. Love, Joan and Jim Croft

I was a student in Mr. Marra's classes in 1964 and 1965 -- he one of my best and most influential teachers during high school. I didn't have contact with him since high school but am glad he continued to exhibit and have a fruitful life. Well done as one of the good and faithful.

I met Al in 1971 at the opening of school faculty meeting when Ed Nemson was principal. When teachers were told to follow Mr. Nemson's new rule that staff was no longer to use a cafeteria door into the teachers lounge, Al demanded staff be provided football helmets and whistles to use when viewing for a place to sit...The request was never honored, but Al sure made a point. He was a historian, a teacher to teachers, a compadre , and an optimist.

Dear Jan and All,
I never had the pleasure of Al as a teacher but caught up on his stories when me and Jeanne came over for dinner in the 21st century. We are forever grateful for how great you both treated Mama Jensen in her solo years. Love, Maja and Dave Jensen
