Not sure what to say?

AJ aka "Capt Jay" was my good friend, fellow Tulanian and sailing mentor. On one adventure, we chartered a 42 foot Yacht, July 4th out of Ft Lauderdale heading out to Bimini - When the Jib blew out in rough seas , Jay did not panic and got us safely back to harbor. We cruised the inter coastal and made frozen daiquiris and enjoyed `bird watching´ on sunny Florida shores. Jamie "DrB" Connelly

I am saddened to learn of Jay´s passing. We lived next door on Rosa Park growing up. Many family gatherings I will always cherish. May he R.I.P.

Jay was such a good, kind soul who loved to laugh and to sail. He taught me to play booray while simultaneously taking a buncha money off me lol. I like to think of him sailing with St Peter now.

I remember Jay as such a kind, gentle man who would get tickled over silly jokes and who loved sailing. He's sailing with St Peter now, God bless him!

I met Jay when I was a Deke pledge many years ago and he immediately took me under his wing to teach me a few things about beer drinking, sailing, crawfishing and having fun in general. He was a real character and left me with some great memories. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

Jay was an icon in my youth and missed and loved by many. God Speed. ITB

Please accept my sincere condolences. Jay was a good buddy in grammar school, high school and college. We had some wild times together and I considered him a close friend. I'm sorry we lost track of each other in our adulthood. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

My Thoughts and Prayers are with the family and my Step Mother Ms Linda. My fiance Ronnie and i really liked anytime we got to see Jay. He Always had funny jokes for us. You will be missed Jay.
