Schrader Funeral Home and Crematory - Ballwin Obituary

Pratt, Alta Joyce, age 77, of Wildwood, Missouri and formerly of Platte City, Missouri died peacefully on September 6, 2012, surrounded by her family. She was born in Lufkin, Texas and spent her early years in Iraan, Del Rio and Corpus Christi, Texas, while her father, a United States Marine, served in WWII on the islands of the Southwest Pacific. She was a homemaker and devoted her life to raising her children and caring for her family. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and tending her flowers. She most enjoyed the warmth and love of her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Horace B. Pratt, and three children, Cynthia A. Booth and husband Daniel, Mary Pratt Renz, and Mark B. Pratt and wife Corey. Also surviving are the grandchildren she so cherished, Marie and Laura Booth, Ryan and Joshua Pratt and great grandchildren Jacob, Ava and Mariana. Preceding her in death were her parents Paul A. and Myrtle Cox and her beloved brother Paul (Eddie) Cox. Tailwinds Joyce, Mom, Grandma, Great Grandma. Your valiant struggle is over.

Services: Memorial service at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Crematory, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Sunday, 3:00 p.m. Interment Private . In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 4207 Lindell, St. Louis, MO 63108. Memorial Visitation Sunday 1-3 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held in Kansas City at a later date. Friends may sign the familys on-line guestbook at Schrader.com.
