My heart is saddened because one of the great people of my 28 years at Wake forest is gone.I am a campus minister and Al had a spirit of kindness and hospitality that is rare. Knowing Al was a gift to all of us. My prayers are with you and all who grieve his passing.

Alton's Family, you have my prayers and sincere sympathy in his passing. I was in his graduating class of 1957 at Northwest High School and knew him to be a very kind and considerate classmate.
