Family of Al Pope--I'm sorry for your loss of Al. Became acquainted with Al as a parishioner of Valley View UMC in Overland Park, KS. So many meaningful memories over the years. Wonderful pastor, friend, writer, fun guy to be around, great sense of humor and a sparkle in his eye, loved interpersonal interaction. Have always remembered something Al said at a church meeting--'I love to talk so much that I can't wait to hear what will come out of my mouth next'. Thanks be to God for Al's life...

Al was a highly respected colleague and mentor...and fellow bike rider on Kansas East youth bike tours. Thank you for a life well lived.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. I started going to services at Lake Quivira while Al was still preaching there. I always enjoyed his sermons that were always sprinkled with humor and humility. I especially loved when he wore his Converse high tops to service.

Al Pope was a good man. Served humanity in multiple ways for all his life. Well done, good and faithful servant.
