Alton Taylor, 77, of Magnolia, Arkansas died Saturday, July 25, 2009 at the Magnolia City Hospital. He was born October 6, 1931 in Bodcaw, Arkansas to the late O.W. and Irma (Whitten) Taylor and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Oris and Leland Taylor. Alton was a member of Central Baptist Church, the VFW and was an avid outdoorsman and had a passion for playing golf. He dearly loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Joann Taylor of Magnolia; sons, David Taylor and wife Angie and Steve Taylor and wife Sheri both of Magnolia; brothers, Lyndon Taylor of Minden, Louisiana, Travis Taylor of Jackson, Mississippi; sister, Marilyn Story of Magnolia; grandsons, Patrick Taylor of Little Rock, Zach Taylor and Wes Taylor both of Magnolia. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Central Baptist Church with Bro. Steve Ford officiating and assisted by Bro. Jimmy Sayers. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be James Dees, Jim Madden, Harold Jameson, Jim Shaw, William Powell, and Russell Holley. Honorary pallbearers will be Central Baptist Church Adult I Senior Men's class. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Arkansas Children's Hospital.
