To: The Children of the late Mr. Alva & Minnie Bell Godfrey

Mr. & Mrs. Godfrey meant so much to me . I met them at an early age in my life. I am the owner of Stlyes by Rosa Beauty Salon at 48 East Johnston street Forsyth, Georgia 31029. They have been like a mother and father to me . I will forever treasure the memories that I spent with them. Mr. & Mrs. Godfrey were (2)of the most sweetest people in the world that gave me a chance of owning my own business. I will never forget...

I enjoyed seeing your Dad when I visited Pinegate to see my Mom, Sadie Hamric. He was usually in a playful mood and enjoyed seeing people. I will miss him and I know he will be greatly missed by everyone there. I hope that you will find comfort in good memories and that your sadness will not linger.

I am very sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Jana (Stewart) Coatney

Mr. Godfrey (Cecil), I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I know that when you came to Macon for our retirees meetings you talked about staying with your brother at Pinegate. If he was anything like you, he was a very special man. May God comfort you and your family during this difficult time. With sympathy,
Pam Smith

al was a long time friend of my grandpa.i am very sorry about your loss.

My thoughts, prayers and sincere condolences go out to the entire family.
I knew Alva at Lanier Hich school. His dear mother, the" prayer and dime lady", gave me a prayer and a dime before I left for the Marine Corps, in WWll. That prayer and dime comforted and protected me through three combat operations in the Pacific.
May God's comfort be with all of you in this sad time.

all GODFREY i,m very sorry to hear about your dad. Your hold family was special to our family.

Tim,

My mother, Betty Smith, was at Pinegate for two years. She has since passed, but one of our fondest memories of Pinegate is getting to know and love your Dad.

My husband Ron and your Dad were so funny when they would talk and Ron was especially saddened when I told him about Al.

We just wanted you to know we loved your Dad as so many did and will miss him as so many will.

He touched a lot of lives with his incredible charm....our thoughts and prayers to...

Alva was a wonderful person and a joy to be around. He loved his family and twerp! Although we have only known him for about 4 years we felt very close to him. He was like a father to me and a grandfather to my son. He will be greatly missed but is in a better place.
Deepest Sympathy
Mike, Beth and Michael Lange,Jr.
