Not sure what to say?

A great innovator. I miss him.

Dr. Bakst will always be remembered, as he was so nice to work with.

Dr. Alvin Bakst performed my open heart surgery on April 11, 1962 at Flower Fifth Avenue Hospital (NY Medical College). I was ten year old. My cardiologist Dr. Robert Kahn and Dr. Bakst provided me great care. Fifty years later I am sorry that I cannot personally say thank you.

We met Dr. Bakst in Palm Desert in 1989 when he performed vascular procedures on my wife. We would run into him at the grovery in Incline Village every year. It was like meeting a great friend and always looking forward to it. What a wonderful humanitarian and a great friend to his patients. He always made us smile. We will miss him terribly. God Bless him and the family.

Susan and I just found out about Alvins passing away. I am sure he is deeply missed by you and the family. Alvin was one of my great teachers in the operating room.

A great newspaper article on Dr. Bakst from 2/14/61.

Dr. Bakst performed my heart surgery on April 1, 1963 at Brooklyn Jewish Hospital. I was 8 years old. My parent's health insurance would not cover my surgery since it was a pre-existing condition. Dr. Bakst told my parents not to worry and to send his office whatever they could afford each month. Dr. Bakst, along w/Dr. Irving Kroop, my cardiologist then, saved my life. Dr. Bakst was a great man who lived a meaningful and rewarding life.

My husband and I were dog park friends with Doc. He was a fascinating and kind man. We loved talking with him. He will be deeply missed.
