Not sure what to say?

When a friend passes, their memory lingers in the mind. That's how I think of Alvin. So often I hear the typing in the office and watch him chew on that cigar. He was always there when needed and he knew how to hold all of us accountable. What a friend!

As I have had time to reflect on my relationship with "Alvin" I have thought of so many things he helped me with. I miss him and I have missed him since we left the Army Guard in Tucumcari. Several times when we were home from the Mission Field in South America we had a few minutes to be updated. He showed me his new home and he was certainly proud of it. But it's that personal attitude that I miss. As a Warrant Office in charge of S-1, he was always military. When we had some time during the...

I still recall so much about Alvin--"Mr. C." He was courteous; always treated everyone fairly. He was a good friend and I miss him. When we moved from Tucumcari, Alvin kept in touch for a number of years. one year we came back to Tucumcari for a visit and he invited me to his home to see the one he had just bought. Sitting on the hill overlooking the city. He is missed by so many of his friends, co-workers and enlisted as well as officers he always kept up with.

I am saddened by Chief Cawthone´s passing. He was a long and dear friend to my mother Stella Folks and to me as well. The world is a lonelier place without him. Rest In Peace old friend.

he was a great friend as i was growing up.
I really admired him

Alvin was my long time friend. He and I served at the HHB army national guard in tucumcari. I only learned of his passing today from my sister, Loretta Fowlkes who still lives in Tucumcari.
He made quite the positive impressions on me and he will not be forgotten.
Rest In Peace my brother until the roll is called up yonder.
