this post is dedicated to my stepfather Alvin of 21 years...
Goodbye Alvin I will miss our mutually caring friendship and the things we talked about over the years.
Alvin was a lawyer, liberal politician and a NYC Marshall. He was a Marine also.
He actually saw Babe Ruth play.
Thanks for being the voice of comfort and there to talk and laugh about life together.

I knew Alvin my entire life. He and my father, Howard, grew up together in the Bronx and remained life-long friends. In fact, for many years preceding my father's death in 2002, he and Alvin would speak to each other by phone every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. I remember Alvin telling me shortly after my father's passing how much he was going to miss those phone calls. My deepest condolences to Audrey and Bruce.
