Alvin E. Helton

Mr. Alvin Eugene Helton, age 81 of Oakdale, TN, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Roane Medical Center. He was employed for 25 years at Roane Electric Inc. in Rockwood, TN. He was a member of Pine Orchard Baptist Church. He was an avid gardner and squirrel hunter. He was preceded in death by parents: Carl and Maude Stewart Helton; siblings: Dorothy Redmond, Helen Bingham, Madge Summers, Mary Burchfield, Zelda Bingham, and Willard Helton. He is survived by wife, Edna Irene Helton; children: Edna Johnson and husband, Edward, Alvin (Junior) Helton and wife, Sandy of Oakdale, and Mike Helton and wife, Connie of Azle, TX; grandchildren: Edward Johnson Jr. and wife, Michelle, Jason Johnson and wife, Kari, Justin Helton and wife, Narumol, Christy Wethington and husband, Sam, and Becky Helton; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Carl (Bud) Helton Jr.; sister, Shirley Collins of Oakdale; and step-mother, Irene Helton. The family will receive friends Friday, November 19, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bro. Mike Helton and Bro. Rob Laymance officiating. A graveside service will be held Saturday, November 20 at 12 p.m. in the Pine Orchard Cemetery.
