Alvin Kenneth Hudson, 77, of Columbus, MS passed away Tuesday, January 12, 2016, after a lengthy illness in Columbus, MS.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 14, 2016, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at Lowndes Funeral Home, Columbus, MS. A Funeral Service will be Friday, January 15, 2016, at 1:00 pm with Bro. Tommy Gillon officiating in the Lowndes Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in Forest Cemetery, Ethelsville, AL with Lowndes Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Hudson was born October 11, 1938, to the late Archie and Alicestene Moore Hudson in Fayette County, AL. He has lived in Columbus since 1972, where he was a Body Shop Foreman for Waters Truck and Tractor for 39 years. After retirement, Mr. Hudson enjoyed working with Perma Corp as their grass maintenance man. He loved crappie fishing, doing yard work, boating, skiing, restoring cars; and he was an avid Alabama football fan.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years-Hazel Hudson; daughter-Denise (Tony) Moore, Northport, AL; and son-Ronny S. Cooper, North Port, FL; grandchildren-Jason Brand, Athena Hubbert, Kenny Cooper, Kaitlyn Cooper; and great-grandchild-Carr Hubbert.
Pallbearers will be Jay Street, Gary Weaver, Randy Hudson, Shakey Hanson, and Sonny Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Woodard, Ray Gore, Forest United Methodist Church Family, Employees of Waters Truck & Tractor, Employees of Perma Corp, David “Redman” Gray and William “Hudo” Maxey.
