Dr. Alvin H. "Al" MEYER

Dr. Meyer was my academic advisor at Texas A&M University as an undergraduate studying Civil Engineering in the late 1970's, and then he offered my a research assistant position at The University of Texas at Austin while pursuing my graduate degree. I was so fortunate to have Al serve as my advisor for my college formative years. We co-authored a research paper together.
We stayed in touch for many years.
We reconnected the last few years, when I moved near him and he recognized me...

I remember Al Meyer always with a smile on his face and always having a kind word to everyone he met. I was fortunate to work in the Engineering Career Assistance Center across the hall from the Student Affairs office where Al's presence was a true gift to the students he guided during their college years in Engineering. He will be missed by his family and friends. My prayers are with his family at this time.

I thoroughly enjoyed many times meeting and working with Dr. Meyer when he was a UT Austin Civil Engineering Professor doing highway research and I was an Engineer with TxDOT. May our gracious God comfort Al's wife and family in his loss.
