Father O'Reilly made a profound impact on our lives and was responsible for bringing Alan, who he called his "only Jewish conversion", into the Church. He was a dear friend. We paid tribute to him by naming our beloved puppy after Father O'Reilly -- something that he never quite appreciated. Our Reilly, who is now 8 years old, is every bit as hard-headed and loving as her namesake. We will always treasure our memories of the wonderful times we shared together here in Jackson Hole and in...

Father O'Reilly was my first priest. He baptized and confirmed me at St. Mary's after I had spent most of my life as a non-Christian. He spent several weeks visiting us in Jackson Hole in the summers trying to escape the heat of New Orleans, and we had many good times together. His accomplishments at St. Mary's and the Old Ursuline Convent are legendary. He was like family and I will miss him terribly.

Fr. O'Reilly is the epitome of what priest should be. He was a wonderful man and I can truly say the best priest I have ever met. He is truly blessed. I remember when he was the pastor of St. Edwards. He made St. Edwards the great parish that it is today.

Father O'Reilly was a wonderful priest and friend. I saw him a few months ago with Father Hecker and had a nice chat. He remembered my family and we spoke of everyone in Destrehan. I am leaving this note on behalf of my mother and father, Herman and Joyce Faucheaux, both deceased and on behalf of my brothers, Buddy, Bobby, Billy and Ben. Ben had many good times with Father O'Reilly and Father James Pillar. So, in closing, may he rest in peace and keep constant watch over all of us.

Msgr. O'Reilly was a great priest. It was a wonderful privelege to work
close with him at St. Edward's. His kindness and caring will be felt by
all those whose lives he touched. Now he will rest in the arms of the
Lord.

Father O'Reilly was pastor at St. Edward's when my sister, brothers, and I went to school there. I have memories of him telling us we could have the day off after he came to give out report cards and Sr. Mary de Lourdes going crazy because he just couldn't do that! Don't think she ever got him to stop, but we got extra recess instead. He was a wonderful pastor and will be missed.
