Not sure what to say?

Hi Dad, Happy Belated Birthday! It's weird, writing you was always therapeutic, nowadays it's not something I look forward to. It's bringing up sad memories, and more crying (which has finally abated) after too many yrs. Anyway, Gabe tells me you guys spend plenty of time together - not sure if I believe what I hear in my head, but as he says, 'mom, you'll know when you get here." Not for another 20 yrs., from what I hear. Can't imagine, I'll be 90+. Oh well, your twin great grandsons need...

Happy birthday Alvin. Saratoga starts Thursday. See you there for some corn. All-1-all in the last. Xoxo

Dear Dad, Happy Birthday, wrote a long msg to you, but something happened, and it disappeared - so, I'll just say another year since you passed, and I miss you so much. Not up to writing more now, since it's 4am and haven't slept, just didn't want to miss your birthday. So, until the next time - love & miss you, as always, ox

Hi Dad, 13 yrs after you died and I still remember that day like it was today. Today would have been your 96th birthday, Things are going well with Alex and Michael. Both working a lot, and take good care of me. Both loving and wonderful. Alex is also a phenomenal basketball player. Michael can play (and often does when Alex gets him to), but he's more artistic; into making beautiful music. I often "hear" from Gabriel, mostly when I'm sad and/ or worrying about the boys. He says he's happy,...

Hey Grandpa.
I miss you and I speak of you -and grandma to the boys often. We are at that point in their life when they learn to work and hold jobs, start bank accounts, drive, build credit and plan for their futures.
So it’s stressful but exciting. The world is in a state of chaos due mostly to a pandemic and so they are spending their senior year of high school at home which is lousy but it’s the way it is. I don’t know what I believe of the afterlife but I hope you’re resting in...

Your great grandsons Alex and Michael

Gramps, we are coming up on the day you passed. I will never forget I was down there with you and I couldn't get Wi-Fi so I had to leave to push my return flight out. And sure enough, I get the phone call that I should hurry back. I drove thru those gates like a stunt driver on Starsky and Hutch. I ran down that hallway on the 9th floor like a ball player and pushed past a huge Jamaican cop. And I rushed over and held you in my arms as you took your last breath. You were the closest thing I...

Hi Dad, happy birthday. Feeling nostalgic and homesick of late, more than ever. I think it won't be too much longer now. We'll see. Wondering if your theory of 'when you're dead, you're dead' was accurate or if mine is about 'levels' (purgatory, et al). Ok, well talk with you again soon. ox

MISS U

Hi Dad, it's the 9th yr. & as always it seems like yesterday. Gabriel is doing great, an incredible Dad. Turned into the mensch I always knew he could be. More considerate and loving than ever, TG.(bet you know this already). Just have a feeling you're up there keeping an eye on him. Your great grandsons are doing well; staying strong and focused. Michael is very creative and is careful with the money he makes, although, when he wants something, he buys it. And, he's generous with Alex and...
