Not sure what to say?

I always enjoyed the Schwartz family reunions and Alvin´s kindness. He is my mom´s (Bonnie Schwartz Holman) cousin and they were born the same year and passed on the same year. Alvin and my dad (Jerry Holman) had ham radio in common as well. Rest in peace.

I was thinking about my time at Roosevelt High in the 1970s and I thought of Al. When I googled him, I saw that he had passed away. He was a great guy, and when I started teaching a Film History class, he hooked me up with KATU for tours. He was a great guy!

Al always seemed interested in me and what was going on in my life at the Schwartz family reunions. My mom, Bonnie Schwartz Holman, passed away just four months before Cousin Alvin. I hope they are still enjoying a happy family reunion on the other side.

Lorna, I am so sorry for your loss. Nevertheless I can't help imagining Al and my parents getting to see each other again on the other side. I always enjoyed Al at the Schwartz reunions. He was always so friendly and funny. I am sorry I am not still in Oregon to attend his service. Much love and prayers for you and yours during this most difficult time.

I was so sorry to learn of my friend Al's passing. It was an honor and pleasure to work with him for many years at KATU. He will be missed.

Jim and I always enjoyed out get togethers with Al and Lorna. Usually we were joined by Larry & Rosalie and we had fun meeting for lunch. Jim (W6SVP) and Al enjoyed talking together on the air waves and in person. Al will be missed here on earth, but I know he and Jim are up in heaven talking ham radio stuff and having fun.

I was a member of St. Mark's with Al and Lorna, and when I think of those days I see Al smiling that wonderful smile of his, especially when he was sitting in the balcony running the sound system. It was a joy to work with him on church projects. Thank you Al. ---Beverly Ockinga

Al was a wonderful role model when our girls were involved in Confirmation at St. Mark's.
He was mentor for our daughter, Sarah.
Al is one of the good things we reminisce about when reliving the "St. Mark's Days."
God bless you, Al. We will always remember your kind ways. The Robb Family

Al was a lifetime amateur radio operator and friend. I new him for a short 20 years and will miss him greatly. Rest in peace Al.
