Alvin Jackson Swanson

Alvin Jackson "Jackie" Swanson Alvin Jackson "Jackie" Swanson, 65, of Palmyra, was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, April 3, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 25, 1947, to the late Carl Conrad Swanson and Anne Lousie (Birckhead) Perks. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Edward Swanson; and a sister, Margaret Louise Hall. Jackie worked as a Logger and retired from Fluvanna County. He was an avid NASCAR and Boxing fan, loved country music and being outdoors. Survivors include his wonderful, dedicated and loving wife, Martha Ann (Micklem) Swanson; six children, Christopher Wade, Alvin Douglas, Clifford Conrad, Roy Lee, Jonathan Scott and Christopher Wade II Swanson, all of Palmyra; three sisters, Frances Swanson of Scottsville, Janie Williams of Nevada and Patricia Lively of Buckingham; two brothers, James Williams and his wife, Michele, of Chesterfield, and Robert Williams and his wife, Nancy, of Lynchburg; and a very special and great loving friend, Mrs. Grace Peterson of Scottsville. A funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Seay's Chapel United Methodist Church by the Reverend Greg Miller. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2013, at Thacker Brothers Scottsville Funeral Home.
