My condolences to the LARGE extended family of Alvis Atwell. I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Atwell at his home in June 2009 on a day when one of his grandchildren (?) was there mowing the lawn one day. I stopped by at the suggestion of one of my friends in our hiking club that maintains the local section of the Appalachian Trail (AT)that passes through the Ceres area. Mr. Atwell was a unique and knowledgable gentleman, a repository of some of the accumulated history and knowledge of Ceres...

Jan and Tony, sorry to hear of Mr Alvis' passing. He was a fine gentleman, a wealth of historical information and I appreciate having been able to meet him. Sorry I will be unable to attend the service; you are in my prayers.

I remember your Dad whilegoing to Sunday School at Lick Craek Church.He and his wife were always kind and thoughtful to all. So sorry to hear of his death. June Ellen, God be with you in this time of need.
