Alvon Creighton Elrod Sr.

We were neighbors of the Elrods for many years. We have such fond memories of Alvon, with his great dry sense of humor and his willingness to help. He will be missed and remembered as a wonderful man.

I am a Clemson graduate, Alvon Elrod, Jr. & Sr., was a great inspiration for me to pursue engineering.

Jeanie and I would like to express our sincere condolence to Ruby and family in the passing of Alvon Elrod. Alvon was my colleague in many endeavors during my entire tenure at Clemson University. He was a man of highest integrity and splendid abilities. I loved him as my brother. I knew most of his children well and Jeanie taught Cheryl piano. We will miss him.

Jackie and I returned to Clemson in 1987 and immediately became friends through FBC Clemson and NCEES as he participated in developing and grading examination items used to licence mechanical engineers, nationwide. More recently they were neighbors at the Downs. He will be missed as a true Christian and friend. My prayers are with the family.

Daddy was the kindest, most generous and patient person that I've ever known. His humour and laugh were most contagious. His soul lives on through all the good things he has taught and showed us.

My deepest condolences to the family for your loss. Psalms 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And of because of special mightiness they are 80 years. Very special indeed!*
