Amanda Mariam Barber

Our family moved to Auburndale in 1970. Amanda welcomed us to her church and made sure we met everyone. When I began working with the Women's Unit I could always count on her for support and advice. She always made jelly for the Annual Bazaar and taught some of the younger ladies just how to make it perfect! I send Sympathy to the family of Amanda Barber. My memories are of the beauty shop: sitting in a chair watching Amanda and my mother setting hair or giving a perm while catching up on the customer's family news. Many of my school teachers had their hair done in the shop, so being in trouble at school meant double trouble at home. My mother and I had a second home with Amanda and Gerald at the beauty shop. My love to all the family and may you remember all the good times.
