I am a friend of Amanda's father Bob. Although Bob spoke of her often, I never had the privilege of meeting Amanda. I could tell he and Gretchen were very proud of her, as they will always be. I hadn't known however, just how remarkable she was until I read this tribute to her. She accomplished quite a bit in her life. There must be many people who are considerably better off because of her efforts, and many friends and family whose lives were enriched by her existence.

The Kerwin Family send their heartfelt condolences. Amanda’s accomplishments are far reaching and ever-lasting. Because of her commitment to fairness and justice, she left the world a better place.

Amanda and I worked together at the hotel workers union in New York and DC 20 years ago(!) and stayed friends ever since. I have so many memories of her - but the image in my mind is of resolve, tenacity, intellect, humor, compassion, selflessness and the best kind of quirkiness. I am so sorry that she has passed and my heart goes out to Gretchen and Bob. I will share more memories in the days to come.

I only met Amanda once...at Gretchen's retirement dinner. She had the most beautiful smile, and was so confident and well-poised. I liked her immediately, and wish I could have talked to her longer.
My heart goes out to Gretchen , Bob, and the cousins, friends and co-workers who were privileged to know her well.
May your many happy memories be a comfort to you.

Gretchen and Bob, so very sorry to learn about Amanda. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.
Love, Cookie
