In Loving Memory of Amanda “Mandy” O’Neill

October 5th, 1977 – February 25th, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, Mandy O’Neill, on February 25th, 2024.

Mandy will be deeply missed by her children Lily and Ed, her husband Ed, her parents Pam and Jeff Castrovillari, her sibling Kristi husband Nick niece Olivia and nephew Wyatt, her mother in-law Maryann O’Neill, Sister in-laws Maureen O’Neill Nielsen (husband Garrick), Chrissy McManus (husband John) late sister-in law Michele O’Neill and their families and all our other family members.

While gone Mandy will not be forgotten by anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting, knowing, working with, and touched by her. Mandy valued the people in her life more than anything and always had time to listen and be there when needed. Her kindness, love and understanding were felt by all.   She will be missed but never forgotten and her spirit will live on with everyone that knows her.

A wake will be held at Peterson-Bassi, 6938 W. North Ave, Chicago IL 60707 on Sunday March 3rd, 2024, from 2pm-9pm with a funeral on Monday March 4th and Saint Luke Church, 7600 Lake St, River Forest, IL 60305 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Saint Luke School in Mandy O’Neill’s name. Mandy devoted countless hours at Saint Luke serving in a variety of capacities, supporting the school, the children and being the best mom she could be.

Not sure what to say?

There is a saying that you are not truly gone until the last person speaks your name. Based on all the calls, texts, and all of the glowing words we have received about Mandy, we know that she will be with us forever. We cannot thank all of you enough for your love and support this past week.

I can stand here for hours and entertain you with so many stories and memories about her. But I prefer to talk about what we will remember most about her. We can reminisce later.
Mandy...

Mandy was a great fitness instructor who encouraged all who attended her classes at FFC. I first met her at Jayne and then had the pleasure of attending her classes. She has been missed at the gym and will be missed even more now. Prayers to her family.

Ed, I'm deeply sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. My thoughts are with you during this challenging time. May you find strength and support in the memories you shared. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

One of the most beautiful souls I’ve ever encountered. No matter what I may have been dealing with, everytime I saw or spoke with Mandy, her smile, warm welcomes, and genuine curiosity about how I was doing not only warmed my heart and feel grateful, but it was infectious too. These interactions were at the gym and not very frequent, so that speaks volume to her character. Impacted by many. She is a role model for everyone. I’m extremely grateful for meeting. With love and respect

AMANDA YOU WERE A GREAT SPIRIT THAT LEFT US TO SOON YOU REST WELL MY FRIEND!!!!

I am very sad and shocked to hear about Mandy’s passing I keep thinking about her and all the conversations we had each time I see her at the gym where I met her a few years ago. What a beautiful caring person she was she worked every area of the gym a great worker pleasant and kind friendly being she knew us by name each time we walk in the class. I kept waiting for her to come back to teach classes after being a fitness trainer.
She told me that she always wanted to be a fitness...

To the O’Neill family, may the love of friends and family carry you through your grief. May you find comfort during this time from the God of all comfort. To the McManus family, earth has no sorrow that heaven can not heal. I will be praying for your comfort and strength.

Rest in peace Mandy. My heart goes out to my sister Pam and her husband Jeff as well as to the rest of Mandy’s family. We don’t know the reason tragedies like this happen but take comfort in knowing she is probably up there shopping with her Gramma Marilyn. I hope that just as Mandy is at peace that her family can find peace and comfort. Prayers for all of you. Love Sue and family

Sorry for your families loss
