SERVICE CHANGE DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER
Even when the biggest heart is not strong enough to endure, the love and spirit from that heart will endure with her family and friends forever. So it is with great sadness that her family announces that Amelia "Millie" Kmetz, 95, of West Bangor, PA passed away Thursday, January 28th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg Campus, Bethlehem, PA.
Millie was born in Pen Argyl, PA on August 31, 1925, a daughter of the late James and Mary (Cesare) Guarry.
She was the widow of the late John Kmetz, who passed away in 2003. Together they were married for 52 years. Millie was a member of the Pen Argyl Women's Club, a former member of the Bangor Lion's Club, and enjoyed playing bridge and was active in many bridge clubs. She was a member of UNITE, the garment workers union.
She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pen Argyl, PA
Millie is survived by a daughter, Deborah Gebhardt, wife of Don, two sons John R. Kmetz, and David J. Kmetz, husband of Dee, 5 grandchildren Kirsten Kutza, wife of John, Josalyn VanFleet, wife of Patrick, Drew Kmetz, Dane Kmetz, and his fiancee Natalie DiTomasso, Dylan Kmetz, and 4 great-grandchildren Anthony and Jordan Kutza, and Penelope and Paxton VanFleet. She was preceded in death by a sister Josephine Guarry.
Family and friends are invited to call from 12:30 - 1:30 PM on Thursday, February 4th at James B. Gaffney Funeral Home, 200 S. Robinson Ave, Pen Argyl, PA. Due to current COVID-19 guidelines face masks will be required and social distancing practices will be followed as well as a 10 person capacity limit in the funeral home, at one time. A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, February 4th at 2 PM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Cemetery, Pen Argyl, PA. Online condolences may be offered at gaffneyparsons.com.
