We were deeply saddened to learn of Amiya's passing. My wife (Anne Heacock) and I worked alongside Amiya for many years while at the Mental Health Research Institute, University of Michigan (subsequently re-named as the Molecular and Behavioral Neuroscience Institute and now part of the Michigan Neuroscience Institute).
