Amoge Ifeora-Umeugo was born in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria (West Africa). She grew up with both of her strict, conservative and God-fearing parents in Enugu, Nigeria. Her elementary education was at Christ Church Primary School, Enugu. She attended Queen of the Rosary College Nsukka Nigeria for Middle School and High School. Upon her graduation from High School, she proceeded to College/University where she obtained two degrees in two separate and distinct disciplines. Amoge first graduated from the University of Ife, Ife-Ife, Nigeria with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Zoology. She later proceeded to obtain a Master's Degree in Banking/Finance from the same University of Ife, Ife-Ife, Nigeria. In the late 80's she migrated to the United States. She was in New York at the time she met her husband, Oswald Onyedikachukwu Umeugo. Amoge moved to Connecticut to start a family union with Oswald. She commenced a second phase of her professional career by working for the Connecticut Institute for the Blind. Until her death, she was an employee of the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services. Amoge Ifeora-Umeugo is survived by Oswald Onyedikachukwu Umeugo (Husband), Onyedikachukwu Umeugo, Jr. (Son), Amogechukwu Adaugo Umeugo (Daughter), Chibuzo Ndubisi Umeugo (Son), Mrs. Christina Meniru Ifeora (Mother), Mrs. Uchenna Obierika (Sister), Mrs. Ngozi Obiaku (Sister), Mrs. Ayodele Okoli (Sister), Ms. Nkechi Ifeora (Sister), Ebuka Ifeora (Brother), Madam Gladys Ifejika (Mother-in-law), Mrs. Oscar Onejeme (Sister-in-law), Dr. Austin Obiaku (Brother-in-law, Rtd. Air Vice Marshall Osi Obierika (Brother-in-law), Mr. Henry Okoli (Brother-in-law), Chief Ndubuisi Umeugo (Brother-in-law), Mr. Obiora Umeugo (Brother-in-law), and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10th at 10:00am at Shiloh Christian Church, 373 East Main Street, Middletown with the Pastor Paul A. Hylton presiding. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Middletown. Friends and family may call at the church before the service from 9:00 to 10:00 am and in lieu of flowers, may make donations to the CT Brain Tumor Alliance, PO Box 370514, West Hartford, CT 06137.
