Not sure what to say?

Professor Smith played a huge part in my life and career. I was able to attend the symposium last year. My time at Penn as a Postdoctoral fellow was a broadening and enriching experience. I met great colleagues. I will miss him greatly. My condolences to all of his family and friends. John P. McCauley

Amos was a wonderful professor to work for. He was very understanding and kind. He mentored many great students over the years who would often come to visit, even years after they left. His impact will be felt and greatly appreciated for decades to come! Rest in Peace.

I have many memories of good times shared with Amos, and of his wonderful wit and sense of humor. Rest in peace. David Schuster Professor Emeritus New York University

A lovely man to know. also a truly good salmon angler,he mentioned to me that he would like a England football shirt for his son, my best friend David Seaman ( England goalkeeper) was able to get one, while he was in London giving a lecture I found out the hotel he was staying at,I was able to get the receptionist to leave it on his bed, he phoned that evening to thank me but was worried about the cost of framing it,Pat. RIP Amos
