Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home - Cincinnati Obituary

Amy Beth Roberts (nee Glickel), took flight on January 16, 2024, ending her tremendous battle with cancer.

Amy was delivered at Nyack Hospital (New York) on April 18, 1975, to Candy and Richard Glickel, and was joyfully spoiled by her grandparents. Growing up in Congers, Amy led a carefree childhood, playing outside until sunset with countless friends. She attended Clarkstown public schools from K-12, graduating Clarkstown High School North in 1993. Throughout the years there were family vacations to Disney or Hilton Head S.C., and always summers on Long Beach Island. Teenage summers included lifeguarding at the town pools and following the Grateful Dead whenever and wherever possible.

Amy received her degree in early education at the University of Montana (Missoula), where Bill Roberts would sweep her off her feet. Amy and Bill married over 20 years ago, and remained in Cincinnati (his hometown) where she was a devoted mother to their daughter and true light of her life, Quinn Elinor (11). Throughout this time Amy would begin her commitment to education and her tenure within the Cincinnati Public School system. It’s no surprise that “Mrs. Roberts” was a most beloved teacher at Hyde Park Elementary School where – with humor and love – she made learning fun and memorable. The school community is no doubt missing Amy’s sparkling smile, kind nature and snarky sense of humor.

Amy loved reading and cooking and Rottweiler dogs (Zues, Cali & Gus). She treasured visiting her nieces Ali and Regan (Maye), her sister, Heather, and brother-in-law, Danny over holiday visits to New City and summer vacations on the beach at Cape May Point, NJ. But more than anything, she loved being Quinn’s mom.

Amy would not go gently. She summoned her warrior’s heart to spend Thanksgiving at home and guide the decoration of a last Christmas tree. She did see another New Year. Amy will be remembered fondly for her passion, sharp (but honest) tongue, generosity, love and that glorious smile. She will be missed terribly.

Visitation will be held at Geo. H. Rohde & Son Funeral Home in Mt. Lookout Square, Cincinnati on Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 3-6:30 PM with service immediately following at 6:30 PM. Donations in Amy’s memory may be sent to the Blue Ash Inpatient Hospice Care Center, 4310 Cooper Rd, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242.

Not sure what to say?

A childhood friend, fond childhood memories, incredibly sad to read about this. May her family find peace and comfort.and always continue to honor Amy’s Legacy!

Im very late finding out this news, but I’d be remiss if I didn’t share how much Amy meant to me.

Amy was the first cooperating teacher I worked with when I was completing my Teacher Education program at Xavier. She welcomed me into her 4th grade classroom and modeled professionalism, organization, and tough love. It was a perfect match from Day 1.

Over the years, we kept in touch and I LOVED running in to her at district PD days. Last school year, I had the honor of...

All the memories come rushing back when I picture her smile. It’s been too many years since I’ve seen Amy but the love is still here in my heart. She was an amazing friend and the most fun partner in crime when we were teens. I’m heartbroken for her family, for her daughter. May she watch over them always.

While I was never fortunate enough to have met Amy, the stories I have heard over the years from her Dad and from what I have read, it appears Amy influenced everyone she met in such a positive way. The world is certainly a better place because of Amy's impact... Rest in peace

To Rich & Candy we were truly saddened to read the news about your beautiful daughter Amy . Please know we are thinking of your entire family and her husband and daughter especially as you all go thru the days ahead . Our prayers are with you all . Bryan Hassett & Lisa GOLEMBA

There are no words to express how sorry and sad it is to hear this terrible news. There are countless fond and special memories of all the incredible times spent with Amy. From swim practices all throughout high school, lifeguarding summers, parties, concerts, trips to the Jersey Shore, Aruba, an amazing week spent visiting her in Montana, and everything in between, any time spent with Amy was always fun and wonderful. My deepest condolences to Bill, Quinn, Candy and Richard, Heather and...

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of the joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Sending much love and support to the Roberts and Glickel families. - the Nycz family
