Amy-Loving-Obituary

Amy Rebecca Loving

Obituary

LOVING, Amy Rebecca, after a very long illness, has now joined her friends around a card table in heaven. Her husband, Stanley; and grand-daughter, Jolene, are by her side. Her three sons and their wives, Stanley and Carol, Johnny and Bettijo, and Richard and Clara, celebrate her life and her freedom from suffering. Her sister, Margaret Gustofson, will sorely miss her, but is relieved that she is no longer in pain. Amy loved and took pride in her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will also miss all of her friends "up the country." Amy retired after many years of service at Bell Atlantic Phone Company. She loved her community service as a clown for the Pioneers. Amy was a longstanding member of Victory Baptist Church. She loved her Lord, and we know that she is at peace in his hands. The family will receive friends today, Friday, January 16, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Atlee Chapel of Woody Funeral Home, Rte. 301 and Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, Va. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church, www.VBCRICHMOND.org.

Dear Johnny,
I am so very sorry that I will not be able to see you this afternoon or tomorrow. I will be at church this afternoon and all day tomorrow.
I feel sure that your mom will be welcomed at Nana Poochie's card table.
God bless you, Bettijo and your entire family - My prayers are with you as you work through this difficult time.

Richard: I was so sorry to see your Mother's death notice in today's Richmond Times-Dispatch. Because of this cold weather, I'm not venturing out for the family visitation or the funeral service. I would love to see you again. Your former Hilliard Road neighborhood has changed quite a bit since you left, but I'm still the "anchor" on the block for all of the neighbors. I remember speaking with your Mother on several occasions and seeing her at the Brook Road Arby's after church services...

To Amy's Family: It was a pleasure to know Amy at the Telephone Company and while we never really worked in the same office, I thought a lot of her as did everyone else. I am sorry for your loss. I know you will miss her.
