Not sure what to say?

I'm looking into possible family relations, and I have been talking to Steffen - one of Anders' sons - on and off for several years. We never found out if we were truely related, but from what I read here he sounded like a cheerful person - someone I would be proud to be related to, and I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.

My most sincere condolences to his family and friends.

He arranged for me to join him and some friends on a canoe trip on the Rio Grande. It was a most memorable experience of Indian pictographs, good conversation and brandy

Niels, Drusilla & Family:
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. Our deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family for your loss.
Sincerely,

Of all his accomplishments, his 4 fine sons top the list. They are his greatest legacy.

Anders
was my friend for 45 years. He was a man of many moods, but when he was
at his best he was the merriest and most charming companion possible. He
encouraged laughter, song, and serious scholarly research in more or
less equal proportions. He made important contributions to knowledge in
Texas botany and Texas history. I wll drink a toast to his memory in "the Pope's brandy"
and I ask his friends to do the same.
