André DeWitt Adams was called home to rest in God’s Loving Arms on October 1st, 2023

André was born August 7th, 1974 in Rochester, New York to Andrew and Princess Adams. He gave his life to Christ at the young age of 12 at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Albany, New York. André graduated from Guilderland High School in Guilderland, New York. André was recognized as a Black Scholar by The Urban League of The Albany Area, N.Y. Inc. in 1992. He attended Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia on a Basketball Scholarship for two years. He obtained his Bachelors Degree of Science in Business from Excelsior College in Albany, New York in 2012. André was a Senior Corporate Engagement Account Manager at Colorado Technical University for two and a half years before his passing.

André loved his family immensely and his greatest joy was being a Father, Son, Brother, Uncle, Partner, and Friend. With a voice that can be heard from a mile away, guiding and advising his loved ones was one of the purest forms of happiness he could achieve. Always providing the most sound and logical advice he could possibly give. André resonated in his pursuit for perfection, and he demanded excellence in all things. He was a stranger to no one and the minute he met you, he made you feel like you’d known each other for an eternity.

André was an avid golfer, lifetime Michael Jordan and Dallas Cowboys fan and a Nike enthusiast. He was an unbeatable debater of any subject he was passionate about and a master aficionado of hip hop. If you know Dre, you know his music. Ultimately, André maximized every ounce of potential and opportunity that he encountered, and encouraged others to do the same by striving for more, believing in greater and always loving life to the fullest potential.

Preceding him in death: his paternal Grandparents Marion Roosevelt (Ruby Pearl Marzette) Adams  and his maternal Grandparent Mattie Hickman.

He is survived by: his Parents, Andrew (Princess) Adams, , his Daughter Alexis Adams (Fassel), Sister Nicole (Dwayne) Gordon, Brother Kevin (Yolanda) Minor, his Nephews Christopher and Louis Chatman, his girlfriend Brittni Shaver, Best Friend Michael Logan, and a host of Nieces and Nephews, Relatives, and Friends.

Not sure what to say?

My childhood hero! Thanks for showing me the way at Guilderland! RIP #12

Andre was so full of life. We shared religion, gospel music, and we were partners in new business development solutions. Traveling with Andre for Excelsior was always a hoot. Lots of laughs. Andre was so dedicated to fitness and motivated me to workout when I didn’t want to. We shared our 2012 graduation and were both grinning from ear to ear. When I started my business, he cheered me on and gave me some ideas. Rest peacefully, Andre.

My prayers and condolences to the family.

My heart is broken. My thoughts and prayers go to Andre and his family. Andre and I go way back before working at Excelsior College together. I will always remember Andre carrying himself very professionally but also, he had an aura as lovable friend. The world has truly lost a well respected gentleman. Much love Andre.

Our heartfelt condolences to Andre's family. Words cannot express the sadness of losing this kind, gregarious soul. May God bless and keep him close. Katherine and Richard Arthur

As I reflect upon the life of André Adams, I immediately remember his big laugh somehow followed by an even bigger smile. You always felt better in his presence.
I went to high school with Dré & also played baseball with him. I recall the first dunk he had in a game in high school & the crowd (bleacher creatures) just erupted!!
I want to extend my deepest condolences to Dré's family & his girlfriend in this most trying time.
Right now I'm picturing him out on his first...

I worked with Andre for many years at Excelsior and am saddened to hear of his passing. Andre was larger than life and his voice is something I will always remember as well as how much he loved his family. My thoughts and prayers go out to Andre's family. Rest in Peace Andre.

Andre was a wonderful, warm, caring, and fun person. I remember him lighting up a room when he came into it, and making everyone feel seen and valued. My heartfelt condolences to his loved ones! May he rest in peace.
