Andre Felichio

Andre was my hair dresser and friend for 20 years. Even after his knee replacement, he still made the time to do my hair. I so loved to talk about the latest opera (having purchased tickets from him over the years), restaurants, family and travel. He will be sorely missed by many. My condolences to his family. I am so glad that he had the opportunity to go on a great travel adventure with this his beloved family this summer.

To Paul Goldstein: You didn't give me your e-mail address, so I'm answering you via Legacy. Andre' had knee replacement done in late September but only stayed in re-hab for two weeks. After a week at home, he returned to work and complained of pain in the leg with the new knee. I think the stress and pain caused him to have a heart attack in the middle of the night. I have known Andre for nearly 50 years. He so enriched my life. He shared his love of travel, art, opera, movies and plays. I will miss him.

I will miss seeing Andre every month. Spending a half hour with him was always most enjoyable and entertaining, and I always learned something. Whether we talked about theatre, opera, art or travels, the time always flew by.Getting a good haircut was just a part of the experience, his good company the the other part.

Andre and I worked together at Linda Fields Salon and Spa in the Seneca Hotel and at Linda's last location, until her death last May, at Rush and Delaware. I was one of the few co-workers that got his dry sense of humor. At both locations, I made sure that I was at the chair next to his so we could banter back and forth.
