Sadler Suess Funeral Home - Telford Obituary

Andreas “Andy” Demidont, 76, of Telford, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, November 9, 2024. He was the devoted husband of Joella (Charles) Demidont.

Born in Landsberg, Germany, Andreas was the beloved son of the late Andry and Theresa (Dȗeh) Demidont. Proud of his service to his country, he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Andreas valued education, earning an associate degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Mansfield University, and a master’s degree in education. His passion for learning and dedication to his students guided a long and impactful career in education. Andreas began at Muncy Area School District before serving at Elkland High School in Northern Tioga School District. He went on to work at East Penn School District, Oswayo Valley School District, and Souderton Area High School, where he served as High School Principal. He later became Superintendent of Rockwood School District, retiring after years of leadership, and continued his work as Assistant Superintendent for the Burlington, NJ School of Special Services.

In his personal time, Andreas was the consummate coach and mentor. A dedicated leader on and off the court, he poured his heart into coaching and took great pride in shaping not only skilled athletes but also thoughtful, resilient young people. His gift for teaching extended well beyond the classroom, as he guided players and students alike with patience, encouragement, and a belief in their potential. His devotion to mentorship and to cheering on his beloved Fighting Irish of Notre Dame brought him lifelong friendships and a lasting legacy in the lives of those he inspired.

He is survived by his wife, Joella, and his children: A.C. of Norwalk, CT; Andrea Farina and her husband, Christopher, of Souderton, PA; and Arica Slope and her husband, Steve, of Somerset, PA. His grandchildren, Tegan, Avery, and Mike, will miss him dearly, as will his siblings: John Demidont and wife, Cleo, of Center Valley, PA; Heidi Skrapits and husband, Stevie, of Northampton, PA; Sandy Tognoli and husband, Joe, of Allentown, PA; and Suzanne Demidont of Hellertown, PA. Many nieces and nephews will also remember him fondly.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on November 16, 2024, at 11 AM at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 1601 Derstine Road, Hatfield, PA, with a visitation scheduled from 10-11 AM before the service. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Andreas Demidont’s name to: Travis Manion Foundation, PO Box 1485, Doylestown, PA, 18901, https://www.travismanion.org/ .

Arrangements are by Sadler-Suess Funeral Home & Crematory, Telford.

OLD FRIENDS FROM ALLENTOWN IN THE 1950 TIME FRAME. BEST MAN IN HIS WEDDING/HE WAS IN MY WEDDING YEARS LATER. FIRST CLASS ALL THE WAY SORRY HE IS GONE ABBER JA

Andy, THANK YOU for all the support and opportunities at SAHS. I knew that if I had a good idea for student development and spelled out all the reasons for the project and the benefits to students, then you would sign on and support the project. THANK YOU so very much. Louisa Abney-Babcock

I was on Andy's coaching staff at Emmaus. He was a good friend and coach. RIP.

When we were in 9th grade, I thought Andy was the cutest guy. His curly blond hair was amazing! And I helped him pass Algebra that year! So sorry to read of his death!

Joella, We are so sorry to read of Andy´s passing. May God bless you and your family at this time.

Andy worked with and mentored me at Lumberton campus, in Burlington County Special Serivces.
I will never forget the knowledge he imparted on me. He is an example of leadership I use in my classroom. Until I met him I thought there was only two kinds of principals/leaders; the "new sheriff in town" looking to catch someone, or the princiPAL that wants to be everyones buddy, and becomes ineffective. When he covered a vacancy, in the beginning he was always "just right over there." We...
