Charles P. Arcaro Funeral Home - Wilmington Obituary

Andrew J. Casapulla Jr., of Newark, passed away on February 18, 2021, after a  short battle with cancer.

Born in Wilmington Delaware, on November 4, 1963 to Arlene and Andrew Casapulla. He was raised in Elsemere, went to Oak Grove elementary school and junior high school. He graduated from Wilmington High, class of 1981.

At the age of 15, he joined the Elsmere Fire Company as a junior member. At the age of 18 he became a senior member and held the office of junior advisor, membership secretary, recording secretary and director.

At the age of 16, he started working in the family business. After 25 years there he ventured out on his own and opened up Casapulla’s Hockessin in 2005. In 2013 he opened up Casapulla’s in Smyrna along with TheCazzBar and Andy’s Market and then, in 2017, came Casapulla’s Christiana. In 2015 he joined the team at Porter Ford as their inventory manager, a job he truly loved doing. This left Tanya running the sub shop.

Andrew, much like his father, had hands of gold. He loved building and construction and cabinet building along with his “projects”, a golf cart and a horse carriage. He’s done numerous projects just out of the kindness of his heart, truly just like his father.

He was predeceased by his father Andrew Sr. He is survived by his mother Arlene; his wife of 20 years Tanya; siblings David (Tammy), Annlynn (Tony), and Rose (Stan); children Andrew III, Ryan, Christopher, Samantha, and Jacob; grandchildren Carter, Cameron, and Callie; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Milo.

An evening viewing will be held 5pm to 9pm Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Charles P. Arcaro Funeral Home, 2309 Lancaster Ave. Wilmington DE 19805.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 25, 2021, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 901 N. DuPont St. Wilm., DE 19805. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to The Elsmere Fire Company.

Not sure what to say?

Everyone misses you Drew.

There was never a dull moment working with Drew in Hockessin. He was a great guy who would loan you money till payday one minute and dance to boogie shoes after we closed. Tanya, you were a lucky lady

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends. I looking forward to meeting him. Sorry I missed the chance sounds like a great guy. Thank you for making my daughter Shurnevia apart of your family. Love and peace to the Casapulla family.

Dear David, Annlynn and families,
Our heartfelt condolences goes out to all the families. May your loving memories of Andrew help comfort you. Prayers for you and your family.
Our Deepest Sympathy,
Cheryl and Bob Gland

Drew you are good husband, father and a grandchildren. Drew you just kept on fighting and prayers and hugs to the family.

Drew was my Junior Advisor when I first joined the Elsmere Fire Company. Drew was always easy to talk to and a great guy. I had many private discussions with him in reference to my own personal issues and Drew was always willing to listen and try to help. He definitely helped fill the gaps of needing an older Brother to talk to and no matter how long I didn’t see him, we could always pick right back up with conversations and laughs. We shared many laughs as well in and out of the Firehouse on...

Sending my condolences to Drew's family. I always enjoyed talking with Drew at one of the family shops and remember hanging out at the "Big E". I recalled getting stranded in downtown Wilmington while serving on jury duty during a snowstorm. Drew was delivering subs and saw me waiting for a city bus - he pulled over and gave me a ride back home to Roselle. That is who he was - always willing to help. Keeping you and your familiy in our prayers.

Rest peacefully now

True gentleman, a pleasure to work with at Porter, always so helpful. So sad. Larry Agostini
