Not sure what to say?

My father, CWO4 Chadwick served with Captain Conklin on the USS ElPaso. He passed also at 75 on September 6, 2011. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you as Captain Conklin is now proudly serving with the Higher Command.

I served with Capt Conklin while he was Commanding Officer on the USS EL PASO. He was a great CO (my favorite), one of the few who took an interest in each person under his command. I still remember when he met my parents, he spent extra time with them which was very cool. He even bragged on me and bit and made them VERY proud. I was very proud to have served with him.

I served under Capt. Conklin on the USS El Paso. Through all the adversity, including being stationed off the coast of Beirut Lebanon, he showed leadership that inspired all. I continued my Naval career retiring 10 years after serving with him. Fair winds and following seas. Steve Davies USN ret,
