COOK, Andrew Died peacefully at home in Grafton, Vermont on September 11, 2018, at age 62. He was taken from his family far too soon, but leaves a legacy marked by his exceptional kindness and unfailing generosity. He graduated from Yale University in 1978 and later studied in the master of...
I was glad to see an email this morning leading me to post this message. I will be doing some acts of kindness in Andrew's memory. Blessings to all those who had the pleasure of knowing Andrew.

Judie Blincoe and I took over delivering newspapers for Andrew one summer in high school. Getting up at 5am was no picnic, but we were happy to do it for our friend Andrew. We were terrible at doing this task, and worse at getting the commissions but we had our little summer adventure that I'm sure Andrew handled most professionally. A smart and funny guy, who appreicated our efforts at newspaper delviery with a smile. I haven't been in touch since high school, but the memories are still...

I knew Andrew both in junior high and high school and at Yale where we both graduated in the class of 1978. I remember in high school he rode everywhere on his bicycle, long before that became a thing. When he was away one summer, presumably in Vermont, he wrote me a letter on birch bark paper, or so I remember; it was a uniquely Andrew gesture. During high school Andrew dated a friend of mine, Candace Henderson. I know he kept in touch with her at least through college because I recall...

I knew Andrew in school in Arlington, VA. From elementary through high school. He was a wonderful human being, smart, funny, good mannered and just a fabulous person. I found him again through FB and I was happy to see him coming back to the right coast and in particular to New England. I am shocked and saddened to hear this news. My heart goes out to the Cook family.

So sorry to hear of Andrew's passing. I new him as one 3 other first year room mates at Yale and we had some good times in co-adjustment to college life. Of course, as these things go, we lost touch, and I wish, as a fellow architect living just south of the Vermont border I had had the opportunity to have run into him again, as we share many interests

I'm so sad for your loss. Andy was my classmate at Yale, and it seems to fitting to ask us all to remember him by doing an act of kindness in his name. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May your memories lighten your grief.

I am sorry to hear this sad news. Andy was my roommate freshman year at Yale. Andy took pride in going everywhere barefoot (it was the 70's, man) and we had a bet with him that he wouldn't last until Christmas. I still have an image of him heading across the Old Campus, shoeless, as the first hint of a November snow flurry swirled in the air. I think he made it until Thanksgiving. I assume he's barefoot in heaven. R.I.P. Andy.
