Reed & Benoit Funeral Home Inc. - Watertown Obituary

Dr. Andrew E.C. Crossley, 53, DMD, MBA, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019, at Samaritan Medical Center.

Andrew was a 1983 graduate of Watertown High School who advanced to Union College graduating in 1987 with a bachelor’s of science degree in Biology and Chemistry.

Dr. Crossley worked for several years for Wyeth-Ayerst when he met and married his beloved wife Daphne in 1994.

Dr. Crossley then went on to Wake Forest University Babcock School to advance study and achieve a Master’s of Business Administration.

Subsequently Andrew attended the University of Pennsylvania where he achieved a DMD and practiced dentistry for years in Watertown, NY, following in his father’s footsteps.

Dr. Crossley had two children who were the love of his life; Maclean, attending the US Naval Academy and Merritt, attending Rensselear Polytechnic Institute. Both of whom he felt strongly for their success and encouraged then at every opportunity.

Daphne Crossley, MBA (Penn State), was always an anchor to the family and provided constant support in the development and growth of the family. Without her assistance, the path of our children would be in question.

Dr. Crossley wishes to thank all those who were his close friends and relatives for their love and support through many trying times. Know that Andrew had the greatest love and respect for his family especially his wife, son and daughter who continue the family line of accomplishments and philanthropy that he has spired to create.

In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his parents, Dr. David and Joyce Crossley, Chaumont, NY; and a brother, Gareth, and his family Tiffiny and Tristan Crossley (Danville, CA).

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangement are with Reed & Benoit Funeral Home.

Not sure what to say?

What a shock to come across this sad and surprising news one night while looking up people I have not seen in ages. Many years have passed since I spent time with the Crossley family, but I have nothing but good memories and respect for all of them.

I am so sorry to just now be reading this news. I went to Wake Forest with Andrew from 1990-1992 to earn our MBAs. He was a terrific guy, and I do remember him talking about dentistry. I am grateful he was also able to earn his dentistry degree and to build a rewarding career serving many patients in his home state of NY. I have no doubt he was also a terrific husband and father. My condolences to the entire Crossley Family.

Andrew was a good person; always with a smile and a joke to raise spirits. He will be missed.

I'm so sorry to find out about this! He was my favorite dentist.

We are shocked just now to hear of this heartbreaking news...Dr. Crossley has treated our family since our children were toddlers & we all shared a love for The River. I know that his children were his greatest pride. He will be greatly missed...

Andy will certainly be missed. We have great tennis memories of this great man whos spirit has gone on to a higher place..

Have known Andy for years. Always appreciated his friendly and outgoing personality and his generosity with his time. Took great care of brother Ed.

So sorry for your loss, Crossley Family..❤
