Andrew "Drew" Mitchell, passed away, Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the age of 19.
Beloved son of Michael and Melissa Mitchell; loving brother of Lauren Mitchell; brother in spirit of Austin Engle; paternal grandson of Don and Jan Mitchell of Atlanta, GA; maternal grandson of James and Janet Kladney of Wildwood, MO; nephew of Rob (Ayuko) Mitchell, Neal Mitchell, and Raleigh (Theresa) Kladney; cousin of Johnny Mitchell, James Mitchell, Ayano Mitchell, Jack Mitchell, Sommer Mitchell, Tucker Mitchell, Sofia Mitchell, McKenna Kladney, and Brayden Kladney.
Drew was a loving son and brother. He was a graduate of Eureka High School class of 2022 where he was a member of lacrosse team. The consummate teammate, Drew’s passion for the game pushed him to share his love for the game with others. And that is how he lived. He always shared his kindness and his big smile with the world. At his core, Drew believed in others and helped them reach their full potential, always encouraging Lauren in her dance and his lacrosse teammates to give it their all. There was no bigger cheerleader.
Upon graduation, Drew attended the University of Mississippi studying Psychology and Criminal Investigation. He boarded the “Lane Train” and became a huge Ole Miss fan. He loved the banter with his uncle and great uncle over who was the best in the SEC (Ole Miss, LSU or Arkansas) during every sporting event. People naturally gravitated toward Drew, and it wasn’t long after being on campus that he found a community of friends that did everything together.
Drew was loved by many, and all our lives are richer because we knew him. He will be missed terribly.

Mitchell Family, we are so incredibly sorry for your loss of Drew. While I didn’t know Drew personally, Michael would constantly talk about how wonderful of a kid and person he was when we worked together at Ricoh/IKON. I wish you nothing but love and support as you navigate through this incredibly difficult time that I can’t even comprehend. We’re here for you! Reach out anytime.

We have never met your family, but we live in Chesterfield and our daughter is a freshman at Ole Miss. She met him this year and they became friends. In this photo, she took him to her sorority “my tie” party. They had a great time and we’re just friends, and she said he was such a fun and kind person. They were both in the same major too. We have a older son,25, and Elaina, who is 19. Our son never shared a lot of party photos with us so we just wanted to be sure you saw this.

Mitch, I don’t remember any conversation we had that didn’t have a reference to your son or daughter! I know they mean the world to you! I’m at a loss for words my friend. Our thoughts and prayers for you and your family daily since we heard the news.

I had the pleasure of meeting Drew in youth group. He always had the biggest smile and was an amazing friend to many. I loved seeing the fun “brother like” relationship between him and Ethan. My heartbreaks for such a sweet family. You all are in my prayers
