Not sure what to say?

As I get ready to turn 60 myself, I recall what a special day that was when Andy took me, an unknown critical care doc just starting out, to a classic diner diner w aluminum siding near the SCCM convention where we had met. There we both had burgers and talked about critical care leadership in community hospitals. It was an inspiring day and the kind of experience I like to pay forward.

Rest in peace Andy.

Andy reached out and gave me a chance to work on projects through the Society of Critical Care Medicine, just to be helpful. He was an expert in what he did, but worked in the background doing stuff like this to help others. A really nice guy... I'll remember him fondly.

Andy was the consummate critical care physician. He was a leader in this field, being the third to become the Director of Critical Care Medicine at Baptist Hospital.

Early on he recognized the potential of computers, developing a patient information kiosk for the families of patients. He was key in supporting...

I'm extremely saddened to hear of Dr. Egol's passing. I didn't have the privilege of meeting him in person but he recently contacted me via email with interest in purchasing one of my paintings. In our last communication I let him know that I wanted to send the painting to him as a gift of healing but unfortunately I didn't hear back from him. If anyone can have his fiancee or a member of the family contact me at [email protected] I would love to give the painting to his family as it was...

I am saddened to hear of Andy's passing, as I remember him well from Pitt and as an always happy face at the SCCM meetings. I will miss seeing him there.

WOW;I can only hope my family/friends can give similar accolades about me when my time is up:)....Dr. Egol[who I knew as "andy"]was so humble that "I" never knew he was a doctor;we were simply friends,on equal footing.

Andy was a member of CCML whom I was priveleged to interact with.He will be missed

I corresponded professionally with Andy several times and was struck by his willingness to help a stranger he had never met. I'm very sorry he's gone.
