FLOREZ Andrew Louis Florez was called home on Tuesday February 19, 2013 at the age of 91 years. Devoted husband of Joan Maxwell Florez by second marriage and the late Virginia Bauer Florez by first marriage. Beloved father of Fr. Andrew Florez, Sandra F. Marr (and husband, Bill), Anthony Florez (and wife, Ida Rose) and Arthur Florez. Loving step-father of Mary Kay Kelly, Rick Kelly and the late Quentin Kelly. Proud grandfather of Jeffery, Virginia and William Marr, Alex, Yvonne, William and Keira Kelly, George, Carissa and David Heckard. Brother of Marisol Tuero (and husband, Manuel) and the late Richard and Rene Florez. A born native of Tampa Florida former resident of New Orleans, Louisiana and a resident of Metairie, Louisiana for the past 30 years. Louis was a graduate of Jesuit High School in Tampa, a United States Air Force WWII Veteran, serving as a Fighter Pilot, where he flew P-51 Mustangs over England and Germany and retiring his Military Career at the rank of Lt. Colonel. He then moved to New Orleans and graduated from Loyola University and retired from New Orleans Public Service with 35 years of employment. He will always be loved and remembered by those who knew him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Visitation and Funeral Mass at St. Ann Catholic Church and Shrine 3601 Transcontinental Dr. Metairie, on Monday February 25, 2013, Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. and the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Lakelawn Park Mausoleum.
