Not sure what to say?

I just wish that Andy was now a fellow emeritus (although there would be no guarantee that he would retire this soon).

Only a small handful of faculty from your time are still in the department, Andy, I'm sure that they, along with retirees like me, are still saddened at your passing. My continued condolences to Joann and Katie.

I was a student of Dr. Haas in the late 90's, and thoroughly enjoyed his classes. He made you think and he was passionate about what he taught. I always appreciated his willingness to assist students and vividly remember the unique chair he used to have in his office. Thank you for helping me get through some difficult classes!

It is because of Prof Haas suggession or advise I left SUNY Albany inorder to search for jobs. Prof. Haas asked me to send a card to him and Prof. Ravi whenever I find a job. He was so kind and always wanted to help me so asked me to approach for any new job or internship opportunities from Prof. Ravi. Joann, Katie, I'm so sorry that Andy passed. I first met him at IJCAR'81 in Vancouver and was delighted when he applied to SUNYA. He is missed by everyone.

I have so many fond memories of Andy from the Rochester days. We all knew he was something special, and he will be missed and remembered.

My condolences to Prof. Haas' family. I had the pleasure of taking multiple classes with him during my years at Albany, and he will be missed.

Can't believe this... Still remember my 1st day in SUNY cs department talking to Professor Hass. I was in his class and was his teaching assistant before. He is so nice and a good tutor. I will miss him.

Joann and Katie you have my deepest sympathy. Andy will certainly be missed by his colleagues and students.
