Andrew Hart

Andrew Jackson "A. J." Hart, 81 of West Union passed away May 2, 2011 at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. He was born November 13, 1929 at Oxford, WV a son of the late Ronald Hart and Juanita (Nutter) Bartee. Mr. Hart retired from the U. S. Navy achieving the rank of E7. He served during World War II, Korea and three tours in Vietnam. A. J. was an avid supporter of the second amendment and a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association. Surviving is his stepson Kenneth Swiger of Dilworth, MN, stepchildren: Walter Korhonen, Skip Korhonen, Linda Anderson, Karen Smith and Carol Sommer and his sister Meriland DePietro of Flushing, OH. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Nora (Logemann) Hart in 1989, his second wife Karolyn (Lowther) Hart in 2009, brother William Bartee and stepdaughter Patricia Sommer. Funeral services will be Saturday 12 Noon at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro with Pastor Kelly Martin officaiating. Interment will follow at the Middle Island Baptist Cemetery near West Union. Visitation will be Saturday 10 to 12.
