The sacrifice of Captain Andrew R. Houghton was memorialized on 23 May. 2019 at Fort Belvoir Military Installation, Virginia. I was honored to wear a lanyard with a history of Andy's passing on 9 August, 2004. As a combat vertean of OIF I, I am familiar with the challenges Captain Houghton endured during his combat deployment. However, I cannot know the challenges he faced while trying to recover from his extensive injuries. Based on what I have read about Andy, he sounds like the type of man...

To the friends and family of Andrew, I just wanted to let you know that his name is being worn by a high school football player in Mountain View Wyoming through the Heroes on Helmets foundation. Andrew's name and sacrifices are being remembered!
