Not sure what to say?

I was so shocked and saddened to read of Dr. Israel's passing. I had heard he retired but I had no idea of his health struggle and eventual passing. He was my doctor for many years and I knew him to be a genuine, caring and highly knowledgeable physician. His credentials were impeccable. But, more than that, he had a real interest in his patients--not just their medical condition; their whole being. The fact that he chose primary care and devoted his practice to Mercy Hospital and the...

Andy was such an amazing credit to the P & S Class of 1976. I am certain that his patients continue to miss his insightful care.

The Doc is for ever in our hearts and minds,

I worked with Dr. Israel late 70's at the Encanto Clinic on Imperial Ave. When he open his practice in Hill Crest he asked me to join him as his receptionist, which I worked for him for several years. Dr. Israel was one of the kindest humans on this earth. His caring demeanor for his patients and staff was always to be admire. He brought to his patients an amazing bedside manner like no other. It was a blessing by far to know him and an honor to work for him.
If Sonia remembers me her...

I remember Andy from Scouts. He was always a positive person you were happy to see. Hard to believe he's gone. Best thoughts to his family. Gary Raymond

Dr. Israel was the physician I turned to for over 25 years, until his retirement. He was a brilliant man who always seemed to have the right answer. He was very kind, and he often mentioned his family and their international travels. I am very sorry to hear of his passing and send my condolences to his family and colleagues.

I first met Dr Israel in the middle 80's as a patient. He was the best et supra. Very Professional, caring and on top of his game and his patients. My prayers are with Dr Sonia, and her family. We will always remember Dr Israel and the commitment he had for his patients. He definitely is in the Hall of Fame for Medicine in San Diego!! Rest in Peace Doctor !! We will miss you

My wife and I were patients of Dr Israel. We would compare notes after one us went in for a visit. Then the conversation turned to us praising something he did or said during the visit because he cared so much about his patients and their everyday lives. Both of us thought he was a terrific doctor and just a real nice guy. We trusted him implicitly. He had earned our confidence over the years with his attention to detail and his calm professional manner. We consider ourselves lucky to have...
