Brooklawn Funeral Home - Rocky Hill Obituary

We are saying a final Goodbye to Mr. Andrew J.A. Kass, who passed away on September 7, 2025, surrounded by loving family and friends.

Andrew Kass has a remarkable history of service to communities in Connecticut.  He retired from the Department of Children and Families after 32 years of working as an administrator of psychiatric hospitals for children and youth, the last facility being The Riverview Hospital in Middletown.  He was also the Executive Director of The Sterling Center for Counseling and Family Relations, which he established in 1977, a Member of A.T.S.A. and C.A.T.S.O.

Mr. Kass was an experienced clinician in the field of forensic mental health, well respected among his colleagues and appreciated by his many clients.

Besides being a remarkable professional, Andrew was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and loyal friend.  He was a history buff and a passionate gardener.    He supported financially a Polish organization, Podlaskie Stowarzyszenie Pamięci Sybiru, in Bialystok, Poland.

Mr. Kass was a remarkable, humble man whose legacy will last in the lives of people he has helped and in the hearts of people who love him.  He is survived by his wife, Eliza, four children – Alec, Camaron, Seweryn, and Vanessa, and nine grandchildren.

A Celebration of Andrew’s life will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at the BROOKLAWN Funeral Home, 511 Brook St. Rocky Hill, from 4-6p.m. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends and colleagues of Andrew and Eliza will join the family at FUEGO of Cromwell for a reception after the Memorial.
