LLOYD, Andrew Jason Flushing Age 34, died suddenly, Wednesday, May 13, 2015. He made his journey to his beloved Jesus and "by His Spirit" was released from this world and walked into the loving arms of his Creator who understood him and loved him unconditionally. Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, May 16, 2015 at New Creation Church of God, 3472 Lennon Road, Flint. Reverend Dr. Mary Lloyd officiating. Burial in Bendle Cemetery in Clayton Township with a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made for his children's education fund. Visitation 5-9pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 11am Saturday until the time of the service at the church. Andrew was born in Flint on March 24, 1981, the son of Dr. Dennis and Rev. Dr. Mary Lloyd. Husband of Cynthia and father of Andrew Dennis and Celeste Marie Lloyd. Brother of Laura (Brent) Hughes and Sarah (Mike) Carlyon. Beloved Uncle of Zack, Isabel, Lily, Mya and McKenna. Grandson of Marilyn Lloyd, Nephew of Dr. Larry (Linda) Lloyd, Linda (Michael) Sherman, David (Denise) Lloyd, Barbara Meany of Bay City and Vickie Meany of Essexville and many cousins. Andrew was an accomplished steel panist who founded Quest of Faith, DNA, and Quest-I-On (Question) bands. He was the featured soloist for the Mott Steelheads, and placed first for "bands of America" in 1998. They went on to win international acclaim in Europe. A teacher, composer and multi-talented musician, he was a graduate of U of M Flint with a degree in music. The Jimmy Hendrix family awarded him the rights to play his music. Andrew was known locally, and played many venues in Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, Grand Rapids and SXSW. At the time of his death, he had accomplished playing 39 instruments. He was the quintessential musician who "huddled to the beat of a different drum". His creativity, unusual insight and perspective on life, made him loved by all who knew him. His gentle spirit, kind heart, and soft spoken manner, won the hearts of many. People often said he looked and loved like Jesus. The real pride in his life were his two children. A "Hero" to his son Andrew, and "daddy's girl" to his daughter, Celeste he referred to as "Celestial Moonlight". His children will remember their adventures in the woods, bike riding, learning to drive the Golf Cart, fantasy dreaming and creative artistry. It's with heavy hearts that we celebrated the life of our son, husband, father, brother and friend. "To live in the hearts of those we leave behind, is not to die." Special thanks to the many friends who loved him and to Judge Jennie Barkey for her loving care. Andrew was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Arlington Lloyd and James Meany, his grandmother, Rolene Meany, and uncle, James Meany. So very sorry to hear about Andy. He was one of the most open hearted young people I have every known. He always had a smile on his face, always welcomed the new kids into the church. Your hearts must be hurting but know that your friends are praying...

Doc and Mary. Stunned to find out about Andy. I still have a picture of him sitting on my shoulders when he peed down my back. He was about a year and a half old at Young state park. I am so sorry for your family's loss. May the Peace of Jesus sustain you through the difficult waters ahead.
