Not sure what to say?

It was my honor to escort Andrew to Washington DC on Honor Flight in 2011 to visit the WWII memorial. He got emotional when he put his hand on Peliliu as he had been involved in that battle.

Our condolences from Finland to Andrew Makee's family

I'm so sadden to learn of Andrew's passing. I had sent a card for Thanksgiving, which was returned. I met Andrew in the early 1990's when he wintered in Scottsdale, AZ. We had a group that would meet for coffee and pastries each morning. We often went to dinner, including my Dad (who also wintered in AZ and sadly passed at age 93 on 28 April 12). Always wonderful to converse with and very dapper! We kept in contact with yearly Christmas cards, he often telling me he would visit Arizona again....

I am shocked and sad to learn of Andrew's death. He has been my friend for forty years. He was first a neighbor at Clear Lake in Texas and later my favorite dinner companion. We relished two and three hour dinners at Houston's finest restaurants.
We also attended special cultural events together. Andrew was a man of fine taste and had a great sense of humor.
He was not only my friend. He was a loyal friend to my mother as she lived in a retirement home and I was a thousand miles away...

Oh Uncle Andy - how I will miss you. You were always there for me and one of the strongest constants in my life. You were a dear and trusted friend to my parents - Dad called you his best friend and mother always said that you were her third brother. What wonderful times we all had together. How lucky and blessed I was to have you in my life.

My condolences to the family. I met "Uncle Andrew" when I worked for one of his nephews. He came to the office a few times and once surprised me at Christmas with a lovely gift. He was a sweet man who lived a great life. I am sure he is now dancing in heaven.

To a dear friend, met in childhood (4/68), released shortly after 4th of July this year. Thank you for being a great mentor.
