Not sure what to say?

I was so sad to hear of Andy's passing. Andy was so funny in such a unique way :-) I fondly remember my times with Andy in Scouting and OA when we were young and enjoyed reconnecting with him later in life on Facebook. When I think of Andy, I always smile. What a positive impact he has made on so many. Some people take from life. Andy gave. My his loved ones be comforted by fond memomries and gratitude for who he was.

Such a real soul. Loved his lectures in Love and Relationship at Txstate. I just saw the posting for the memorial and realized it was him. Prayers and peace to you all. He lovingly and with wit shared numerous stories about his life with us.

We first met Andy and Sondra when our children were preschoolers at the UT Day Care - followed by our membership at the UT Catholic Center. Our kids are the same age- so it was always fun hearing how the family was doing.. I am so very very sorry for the family's loss. I am so sadden and surprised by the passing of Andy and send my love and prayers to Sondra, Hannah and AJ. Andy was an amazing, loving and kind man. Always greeted me and anyone he knew with a jolly smile and welcome. He was...

I was very fortunate to have professor Marks as a lecturer for a social work class. The topic was Love and Relationships and he was very passionate about it. I really enjoyed listening to his lectures and the wonderful anecdotes he shared with the class about his family and friends. Through these stories you could tell he had a great love for his family and for life itself. He was a wonderful person and will be missed greatly.

Andrew was truly an all inspiring teacher who not only motivated you to do your best but to also look for the best in others. I carry many things with me today, among them a broken heart because we have lost a wonderful friend, but I also carry with me the awesome memories we made at Texas State University School of Social Work. Thank you Andrew for your timeless wisdom and the great memories. Until we meet again my friend, may the kingdom of heaven welcome you and watch over your beloved...

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. The news of his passing saddens me deeply. I was a friend of his in high school and although I've not kept in touch, I've never lost a sense of connection. I always enjoyed his company and interaction while we where in school together. He was one those people that really stood out. My prayers and heart are with his dear family.

Andrew meant a lot to our community and did much to advance the social work profession. He will be greatly missed. In deepest sympathy, Joyce Hefner, LMSW

From all the professors that I had during my college experience at Texas State, Mr. Marks was hands down one of my most favorite. He was extremely kind and helpful. He was always so encouraging about my future aspirations. He actually wrote a letter of recommendation for the graduate school that I am attending right now. I took a love and relationships course with him and grew personally and professionally from his teaching. I will never forget how he even came to my residence hall to do the...
