Andrew James Mertle, of Eden, NY entered into rest peacefully and suddenly on Tuesday, December 16th at the age of 38. Beloved son of Ralph & Wende Mertle, cherished brother of Molly (Jason) Baer and Ashley (Robert) Skoczylas, and a loving Uncle to Jack and Alivia Skoczylas. Also survived by Aunts, Uncles, cousins and many treasured friends.
Through 2024, Andrew was Head Teller and then a Personal Banker, Loan Officer and Notary Public at Key Bank in Eden, NY where he was loved by his co-workers and customers. Andrew loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. Many memories were made over meals and gatherings full of love and laughter. He loved the Buffalo Bills and cheering on Josh Allen. He was on bowling and golf leagues and travelled many times to Myrtle Beach for the yearly golf trip as well as throughout the United States and warm, sunny, exotic locations. He was always there to lend a helping hand including cooking filet mignon for hundreds at countless golf tournaments at Eden Valley Golf Course, his home course. To know Andrew was to love him. He will be missed forever, never forgotten, and in our hearts eternally.
A Celebration of Andrew’s Life will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 27th at Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, 10893 Sisson Hwy, North Collins with Fr. Peter Karalus, Vicar General of the Diocese of Buffalo, presiding. Please assemble at church. A luncheon to immediately follow in the Parish Hall.
