Olinger-Saenz Mortuary Services - San Antonio Obituary

Andrew Hee-Tong Pai, at the early age of 62, passed away at noon on Sunday, June 15th, 2025, at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio. Born on October 21, 1962, in Xia Men, China, Andrew was the beloved son of Gam-Cheun Pai and Wei-Ming Liau.

Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Hui Tang, and his son, Andrew Chi-Hui Pai Jr. He will also be deeply missed by many family and friends who cherished his company.

Andrew was a man who treated everyone he met with respect and integrity. He owned many restaurants and businesses over the years, earning him the camaraderie of many people. The mark he left on this world was one of fairness, charm, and most of all, compassion.

To his family, Andrew was more than dedicated, exceedingly dependable, and filled with love. He worked long, grueling hours in his restaurant for the sake of his family, sacrificing his time, sweat, and tears to allow his family to live in comfort and without anxiety. Despite having a hectic schedule, he found time to spend with his family: daily calls with his mother, camping with his son, spending time with his wife, and much more.

Born in Xia Men, China, Andrew moved to Hong Kong early in his adolescence, where he fostered his adventurous spirit and tenacious attitude. His adult years were spent deeply involved in the restaurant industry, which tested him mentally and physically, taking him from San Antonio to Mexico to finally Fredericksburg. Through determination and resilience, he overcame each of those challenges and succeeded in each of his ventures.

Andrew loved reading and learning, always holding a book during his free time. He was logical and undeniably intelligent, always wanting to keep up with the newest innovations in science. He would surely be reading all he can, now that he has retired to the other side.

His legacy will be one of strength, virtue, and fearlessness that will continue even as he leaves this mortal world.

Andrew was a great boss and friend. He taught me so much and I will forever be grateful. Some of the best memories I have were made at the Dragon Garden in Bandera TX. Be in peace my friend.

Andrew was a truly remarkable individual who meant so much to so many. As a friend, his kindness and wisdom enriched our lives, and as a boss, his leadership and vision left an indelible mark. Andrew's legacy is one of compassion, dedication, and the countless positive impacts he made on those around him. He will be profoundly missed, and the world is undoubtedly a lesser place without his presence."

I am grateful for Andrew’s influence in my life. And that he catered my wedding for free. Which is just the kind of thing Andrew did. He took great care of the things he valued. Andrew’s determination was infectious. There was no end to what he could accomplish. Thankful for his life and his legacy.
