Andrew J. Penta, 26, of Davie, FL passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 in Afghanistan. He is survived by his father, Gary (Kristina) Penta, mother, Patricia (Anthony) Caridi; brothers Jacob, Samuel, and Benjamin; sister Katherine, fiancé, Lauren Pizzio; maternal grandparents Charles & Anne Olsen; paternal grandparents Joseph Penta & Donna Rhodes; Andrew's godmother & aunt, Deborah (Jeff) Frye and several aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will receive friends, Friday, May 24th, 10 am to 12 noon at the Kalis-McIntee Funeral & Cremation Center, 2505 N. Dixie Hwy, Wilton Manors, FL. Burial with military honors will take place also Friday at 2:15 pm in South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, Florida.

My deepest condolences to Andrew's family. I only had the opportunity to work with "Penta" for a short while during his most recent deployment, but right away I could tell he was a great guy with a good heart. Nothing I can say or do will help ease the pain of your loss, but I just wanted to express my deepest condolences and let you know that my heart goes out to all of Andrew's closest friend's and family. He was a great kid and will be missed by all of us.

I am friends with Brandon and the Gertmans.. My heart goes out to ANDY and all of you ... We lost Joshua on Sept.6th 2012 He too was 26.. Brandon and Joshua were very close..
